Is it worth getting the leather wallet for them Craig?

They look very nice, do they cut as well as they look?

Personally I don't reckon it's worth getting the Lie-Nielsen chisel roll because at $100 AUD it's just a teensey bit ott for mine.

However, I did think the Lee Valley leather roll was worth getting. It's only around $10 or $15 US and as the chisels are pretty exepensive, I think they are worth protecting.

As far as how they cut, I've only had a chance to hone the 3/4" and the 1/2" so far (takes about 20 mins per chisel). Both will now take a 0.2mm end grain shaving off of Radiata.

I'm looking forward to using them "in anger" so to speak.

When Wongo returns you'll have to organise a night with Silent, Wongo and myself to test them out. :eek:

What are they like on nails? I have seen Stanleys mangled on nails but the LN's being a bit tougher would probably chop nails in their sleep. I didn't see any paint spots on the handles - have you not opened paint tins with them yet?

Seriously, thanks for the tip on the roll something to re-consider. I will get the 9 piece set if they are available at the Melbourne show.
