Is iit that if clothes manufacturers can find a way to make an article so that it will capture the zipper, they will?
Is it that iPads are designed to annoy people like me????

Hi,
Yes you have to wonder if you are being personally victimised or the manufacturer has not got a clue or does not give a damn about the end user. The other
day tea was served at a meeting and none of the ladies at the meeting could get the tea bags out of the individual packets.

Planned obsolescence plus the inevitable 'race to the bottom' or 'how cheap can we make this before it no longer works'. The cent or less it would cost to properly finish the seam is something they can leave out, and if everyone does it then there is no choice but to buy an inferior product.
Apple used to make a good product and engaged with their users to improve their line. Somewhere along the way that has become a cult of zombies who can only see the gloss of the advertising and just leap from new offering to new offering without regard to the trail of expensive junk they leave behind - an example being the theoretically unreplaceable batteries used in most Apple i- products. And unfortunately where Apple has lead many others are following, such a e-books and the like where the vendor can delete your purchase at their convenience, unlike a real book (or physical media like a CD, DVD and such).
