Anyone ever replaced belt on a ebasm312-01band saw
Just bought second hand knowing the belt was broken and found where to order one from the US (I am in Australia). No manual - anyone ever had to change a belt on one of these014.jpg

Any other advice appreciated
PS any other advice or tips would be much appreciated eg the fence didnt come with the machine (lost in moves sometime in the past). Any recommendations on home made fences much appreciated. Main use bandsaw boxes and bowl blanks. Also appreciate advice on blades - size, style and sources
TIA
Steve

Should be just a standard belt you would be able to get in Newcastle. Newcastle sawworks are good for blades.

Where in Newcastle
Any idea where in Newcastle. I think these were originally sold by Toolies at Sandgate but went there the other day for first time in 7 years (I've been in Africa) to find I was the only customer, one salesman and store half its original size so little or nothing there

You might try Gasweld on 49067777. I know there is a specialist belt place around Adamstown but just can't remember the name.

Sure have. My old one was called the MJ343, but they are all the same.... 100% generic and they are everywhere.
Most of the bits you'll need can be bought from Hare and Forbes.... Find the saw that looks the same and the belts are listed under accessories.
Heres (Hares! ) to your questions -
New bearings for the wheels - 606Z 6 x 17 x 6mm Metal Miniature Deep Groove Ball Bearing from Ebay (for the wheels) - Ebay
New bearings for litterally everything else - 10pcs 6001-2RS Rubber Sealed Ball Bearing Miniature Bearing 12 x 28 x 8mm - Ebay
Drive belt - BELT (POLY VEE BELT) #7000 from Hare Forbes https://www.machineryhouse.com.au/3BP7000
Blades 12.5mm 6 tpi - W420A https://www.machineryhouse.com.au/w420a
Blades 12.5mm 3 tpi - W420B https://www.machineryhouse.com.au/w420b
Blades 6.5mm 6tpi - W420F https://www.machineryhouse.com.au/W420F
Urethane Bandsaw Tires, 12'' x 3/4'' (2 per Pack) - Rockler USA
This fence to replace the POC you "get" - https://www.kregtool.com/store/c48/s...and-saw-fence/ - where ever is a good price
I also know Henry Bros in Sydney can make you some nice blades. I found them expensive, but only because I tend to buy from H+F all the time and they keep these blades in stock They are OK, nothing flash.
Putting the new belt on is a real PITA. You have to loosen all the bolts that hold the motor on. Its best to do the rubber on the wheels while you are at it and EVEN BETTER to push new bearings in while you are at that too. Kill all those birds with one stone.
As for better thrust bearings and aftermarket guide blocks - they exist - but were more expensive than the saw. I made some out of hardwood and it worked wonderfully. Held them in place and adjusted with Rockler knobs. The top on bottom bearing adjusters are a real POS anyway.
It was a serviceable saw, but was replaced for The Beast - a Laguna SUV..
