    Default Modern shoes.

Since I have peeled off a lot of weight I decided to get a couple of pairs of shoes out and try them again.

They fit! Great! BUT the Hush Puppies Simply had the sole disintegrate after less than 5 minutes wear.!!!

The same sort of synthetic material is used on some Stanley chisels we have at the club. It has also disintegrated.

Does anyone know if constant use prevents this or would the shoes simply wear out before the disintegration set in??

Don't know why this would happen. I wear Hush Puppies to work all the time because they are reasonably priced, wear very well, fit very comfortably and I can keep getting the same ones when the old ones wear out. Have not experienced your issue at all. I generally keep 3 pairs rotating at once, wear each pair at least once a week, and replace a pair when I wear through the soles - at the ball of the foot.

I had this happen to 2 pairs of steel blue boots at the same time. 10 years old and only worn on weekends in the workshop.
The soles and heels just peeled off.
Went back to buy another pair and sales person said it is normal if shoes/boots are worn occasionally or not for a long time.
Also happened to a nice pair of golf shoes that was not worn for a few years.
