Stop picking on Warney, of course he does
I notice a lot of us (this forum and another I'm on, a fishing forum  ) are having trouble with watching the Aussies play rather ordinary cricket. Not used to it are we. We've had bad games in the past few ... decades, but we've always followed them up well. But this tour - yikes.
I don't think the poms are anything special. They're playing good cricket, good enough to get us into trouble and they aren't letting us escape, but I don't think they are playing well enough to be the cause of our woes. The whole team is underperforming except Warney and McGrath ... and Lee though hasn't he been a bit dodgy as well? Anyways, it matters not. Dropped catches? Aussies don't drop catches. Mild bowling? Not our attack. Mediocre batting? Not the best batsmen in the world ... though it's the Poms who are the batting gurus at the moment.
It seems to me, the whole team has flattened out. Lacks that fizz that made it so special and that, dear reader, points to the captain. He's the one responsible for putting that fizz in the team. And Ponting doesn't seem to have it at the moment.
However, I'm not suggesting we should do an England and dump him. He's not the first Aussie captain to start his career on a low, and some of those others went on to be legends. Nah, I reckon we should just get behind the boys, scream abuse at Jow (because he's pommy and silly enough to admit it within a cricket thread ) and give Mr Ponting a chance to carve his own notch on the handgrip of aussie cricket.
Besides which, if he doesn't, I'll be really pee'd off coz I'se got usta us winnin' these here cricket games

never mind the stupid cricket. I'm watching the footy tonight.
Pies v Blues C'mon Pies , loose this - we need a priority draft pick
(sorry if this makes no sense John ,but the cricket is giving me the sh*ts. I'll admit , I'm a bl**dy poor loser.)If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

I agree with what Daddles said, 'cept maybe adding Lee as almost an afterthought. I reckon this test he had the acid applied, and he has really come through. Something he has struggled with a bit in the past.
I am a big fan of his, but he can frustrate the crap out of you at times with bloody lazy dodgy bowling, and why oh why can't he keep his foot behind the line. This time however, he has stepped up to the mark and carried the pressure well.
Collingwood, isn't that a suburb in South Sydney? They play little league I think, cos they aren't good enough for real football.Boring signature time again!

Actually, I think Hayden and Martin should be sent home.
Make Gilly captain and bat Ponting at 6.
Give Hodge a go at 4 and fly Hussey over to open with Langer.
Too harsh?

Everyone who doesn't support the Pies hates them. However, tonight they are playing Carlton. It's a pitty that one of the teams have to win. And it looks like it's going to be Carlton to take home the points.Photo Gallery
