    Default G'day I'm Ash

    G'day everyone, I'm Ash.

I'm mainly interested in sculpture but have also carved some small bowls. I'm also planning on making small pieces of rustic furniture.

I have browsed the forums before but stumbled across it again yesterday, looking for reviews on sheds haha. I'm desperately in need of one to be as productive as I want, so I can have a go at making a career out of it (art in general).

I also do photography and am teaching myself how to mig weld. I want to make steel sculptures too. I dabble in a few other media also.

Regarding woodwork, I use power tools (chainsaw, arbortech etc.) but would like to try green wood carving with hand tools at some stage.

Anyway, I was hoping there'd be more sculptors here (maybe there are many but I haven't found much about it yet) but there's plenty of interesting topics that I can learn from so, glad to be a member.

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum "Ash".
There are quite a few members in country NSW as well as across the whole country & the world.
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [work in progress] photos with build notes.
    Enjoy the forum.
    Enjoy your woodwork
    Cheers, crowie

PS - Whatever shed you decide on, double the size as you can never have a big enough shed....

Thanks guys and re: shed size. I know what you mean Crowie. Unfortunately money and space has meant only a 4.2x7x2.4 at this stage but I live on acreage and will get a much bigger one when I can afford it.

    Welcome to the forum.

In regards to the shed you might be able to expand it at a later stage.

    Cheers old1955 and Christos.

Poured the slab for the shed a couple of days ago so will start erecting in a few more days

The only thing I can do where it's located is to build a lean-to to store material, but I'm on 33 acres so plenty of room for a monster shed down the track Which I'll need if I want to carve huge sculptures like I plan.
