G'day gang,

The missus and I have just bought a place in the Mountains and we wanted to do some extensions. We finally managed to find a builder that would come out and have a look at it for us. The builder told us to budget 2k p/sqm for the extension. When i asked what would be included in that quote he got very vague and basically avoided the question. I know it's one of those how long is a piece of string questions but what would you normally expect to see included in the quote and what are the cheapest materials we can use to build the extension out of to help keep costs down. The house is a weatherboard clad with a tin roof.

The missus is looking to extend the dining to have a lounge come off it and have a bathroom, toilet. shower as well a laundry room coming off the back of the existing bathroom and pantry
