Fiberglass tent poles Information needed
I am trying to find information on the relative strengths of of the two types of FG wands in general use
The big S/H Glamping tent we just bought has several fractured pole sections
Even at 12.5mm these pultruded sections are not very strong.
I can purchase 2 types of repair section; 4 lengths of the pultruded for $12- or 4 of the Duratuff for $24- but even at $6 each that is much cheaper than a 10mm 7001 aluminium pole section
My GoogleFu isn't working so would anybody have any idea??
Each main pole has 11 sections so replacing them all will cost quite a bit
As I may want to use this tent as my winter base camp tent I may place a priority on getting the weight down too. So if a 9mm wrapped wand was the same strength as a 12.5mm pultruded I'd be prepared to do that over a few months/years and save weight
