I'm getting a verandah built in (ie. building a wall to fully enclose the verandah to add extra living space).

Got plans and approval. My builder suggest using H3 pine instead of the H2 specified in the drawing. Is that ok? He said its more durable and he has some leftover from another job so he can give them to me at H2 prices. He also said he can use hardwood as well.

My question is, the framing cost isn't that high so priority is durability and also termite resistant. So just want to check with everything that what he said is correct - hardwood is more durable and naturally termite resistant, then H3, then H2.

Is that correct?

Thanks in advance.
