Hello from Louisiana, USA
I am a retired aerospace engineer and former Navy officer and have carved for most of my life, as family life and work allowed. I like to carve most everything, particularly Santas and snowmen. Most of my Santas are in the Old World Santa style, with some having walking sticks or candle lanterns. I begin each carving with a block of wood, sketch a pattern on it in pencil, cut away the waste wood on a bandsaw, then carve the figure using knives and gouges.
I have had three carving articles published in Wood Carving Illustrated Magazine, as well as one in Early American Life Magazine, and I have won numerous ribbons at carving competitions.

Please take a look through my carving photos. Most of these are past work and have either been sold or given away.
