    Andy Mac tis correct, they are all mulga's. The give away was A. aneura and DaveG has none of these at his place either!

    I picked it from A. ramulosa...grows in 5 States, one variety is called Horse Mulga.

    Recently I grabbed some Wodjil (A. assimilis) from my family's farm in wheatbelt WA, and was surprised how much it reminds me of Mulga from Qld. Distinctive white sapwood and chocolate inside. Was once used for fence posts over there, hard as....

    The Qld. stuff I've used for wooden plane bodies, after talking to H. Gordon, and for mallet heads. When the Wodjil settles I'll use it for tools as well.
