Gable Roof Extension
Hello All,
We are in the process of planning an extension/reno to our home and I am hoping to get some thoughts on one of our ideas.
The house is a 1960s weatherboard, basic rectangle shape with pitched gable roof. I am proposing to extend out width ways by approx 2 metres (See attached pics)
My questions relate to the extension of the gable roof (See the red part in pic) Firstly is this a simple job? and by simple I mean in relation to cost, commonly done etc
Is there a type of Truss set-up that is used to do this type of roof extension? or is it a case of removing original pitched roof and replacing completely?
Just trying to establish whats involved and how expensive an exercise this could be prior to going to the drafting stage!
Cheers,
Craig
P.S. Apologies for the basic drawings but hopefully they give you abit of an idea of what I am talking about.
