Standard gear configuration for Hercus 9" and 260 lathes

I realise this has been dealt with on numerous occasions but I thought I'd put it up in new thread. I have been asked by new owners repeatedly for the standard gear setup for all the B and C model lathes. This is the basic set for the lowest feedrate hence the best finish. It does not include the ones required for higher feedrates or thread cutting. All models excluding the A and AM have this as the basic turning set.
This setup should enable the user to achieve a bright finish in general turning work, depending on spindle speed and tool tip geometry. The attached photo shows how this is setup.

Having pictures with text indicating the tooth counts is the clearest way of getting this info across.

and for cutting metric threads using the 60-63 compound gear set, which replaces the 100-127.

while the 60-63 is not an exact replacement for the 100-127, the error generated is only 0.001" in 8" of thread bold numbers are for the metric threads only

Another standard gearset this time for the 260ATM. In this case the 18 and 45 change position as required by your gearbox plate. This also applies to the 260AGM and DGM.

Thought I should post the comparison between the two options for people wanting to cut metric threads on an imperial 9" A model Hercus lathe. I believe the error in the 60-63 compared to the 127-100, is so small as to not be worth worrying about. There is also the question of price as the 127-100 is way too expensive. I was asked if the 60-63 setup would actually bridge the gap between the leadscrew and stud gear, the best answer is the attached picture. Nice and compact compared to the 100-127 setup isn't it and no trouble closing the gear cover. If needed you can swap the 21 tooth gear for a 42 and select the next feed rate. See the attached options.
