New rookie from Adelaide
Hey guys and any girls out there! Names Adam, 22 years old and been interested in wood working for quite a while, today I finally took the plunge and bought myself a lathe from a good friend who has upgraded to a bigger lathe. I have made a quite a few book shelves, storage boxes and display cases from wood over the past few years but have never tried turning until now. I am also looking for some chisels and tools to start turning, only after a basic set for now but I want a decent quality set. My mate has reccomended Robert Sorby tools so I am seeing if I can get a 2nd hand beginners set that someone is selling before I bite the bullet and buy a brand new set. Any tips/hints/help and guidance will be hugely appreciated.
Thanks!

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum "Adam".
There are a lot of members in and around Adelaide and across Sth Aust.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork ..
Cheers crowie
PS - with your specific questions, it'd be better to ask them in the relevant forum subsection for a greater audience to give you answers...
Also keep an eye on Market Place for tools and equipment....

Hi Adam,
The market place does not work on Tapatalk due to its "auction" like functions. You will need to access it through a browser.
That being said however I see in your screen shot you at least got to write your message .... perhaps there is a "number of posts" requirement for posting a wanted listing.
Cheers

Thanks for the welcomes guys! Yeah theres a few car forums that im on where there needs to be a certain number of posts and a certain length of time on the forum to stop people joining and spamming, trying to sell their stuff.
