Tie down options - two story timber frame
Gday Folks,
just wondering if someone could be able to help me.
Currently an OB doing a extension and build under in Brisbane.
Just getting ready for framing inspection at end of the week and had a query with regards to tie down requirements.
Plans specify - Top plate to slab M12 rod at 1800 ctrs.
My question is are they expecting me to have rod going all the way from the slab to the top plate of my second level 5-6 metresish or simply the top plate of the lower level - hard to do since its a platform floor and the bottom plate of the second level is in the way.
My thougts are just take the rod up through the top plate of the lower level, floor and tie the bottom plate of the second level to them and then somehow tie that frame to its own bottom plate. Brisbane N2 class.
any ideas ?
Thanks.
