What is going on.
I usually write " Hi All " or similar, then hit the Enter Key either once or twice, but now when I go & read what I have written it is all on the same top line, & I am not keen on the way it appears. Is there a way of fixing this. It is annoying to an older person. It is also annoying that I spaced all of this out with a line each, bit it is all squashed up together.

Issatree, I am no computer geek but wonder if your keyboard might be on its way out.

I did the same thing with this post
I think Kidbee is right.
Give the keyboard a test in Microsoft Word or similar to see if it misses, or hook up another keyboard and see if it does the same thing.
Preview your post before clicking submit will also give you an idea of what is going on.
Are you using Internet Explorer? I seem to remember there being issues with it as well.
If the above fails, do what a mate of mine did, place the computer on the back step, chip shot it with a big sledge hammer into the back yard and then putt it into the pool. He reckoned it made him feel much better. If you find you have dug yourself a hole, the first thing to do is stop digging.
I just finished child-proofing our house - but they still get inside.

The Keyboard.
Thank you both for your input. Now I will go to the next line. I bet it wont work though. Yes, I always do a Preview Post, as doing a Proof Read. My Key Board has been good for me & as I bought it from Our Sunday Market, & for massive amount of $5, I think I could afford a new one. So, is anyone better than the other. This one is a Microsoft KB- 106. Quite like it actually. I will go to the Computer Swap on Sun. & see what is available. Thanks again.

same here
Everytime I do a pm I have to watch every letter as it is all over the place. I don't seem to have that problem with posts and I know it's not my keyboard because it is only in pm that I have the problem.

Go "Logitech" if you haven't already brought the new one.

If you're hitting the <ENTER> key, and in preview (or other applications like Notepad) you get correct paragraphing, but it doesn't post like that, then the problem is not with the keyboard but with the way your input is being parsed (read) by the forum software.
Troubleshooting:
1) Compose your text in the forum window, don't copy-paste it from another application.
2) Install and use Firefox (or Pale Moon, which is Firefox without the sucky australis interface). Microsoft likes doing things 'their way' even if this means breaking international standards and it's well known that IE and VBulletin forum software don't play nicely together.
3) Check that Java is up to date - Verify Java Version
4) If you are already using Firefox and have NoScript enabled, make sure that you let cloudfront.net run scripts.
If those steps don't fix it, welcome to weird Vbulletin bugs land. (I've had the occasional post where paragraph returns disappear without reason, too). A work around might be to use
<SHIFT><ENTER> rather than just <ENTER>.
What's the root cause? POSSIBLY codepages. Codepages specify how the characters on your keyboard map to their ASCII values, and if the value for the <ENTER> key is not mapping to what the Vbulletin software expects then it's not going to generate the correct HTML string to represent a carriage return.
