Teak Troubles
Hi All
My sister in law had a beaut Teak table, oiled, purch'd in Singapore.
One Day
No2 son decided to sand it back and re-oil it, first mistake.
As usual did not finish
Then a while later No1's wife decided to finish it
With PLAIN LINSEED oil..... 2nd mistake
The bloody thing went a redish color. SIL hit the roof!!!
What do you think I should do to try and get it back to teak(ish) if possible.
I am a woodturner and woodworker and have some Klowledge of the different finishes but I would like some guidance on this one
Cheers and Thanks in advanceLindz
It's only a foot long, but I don't use it as a rule

How heavily was the LO applied? If only lightly, you may get away with another sanding session to get it back to good wood. (I'd double- & triple-check that it's not just a veneer first!
)
As for what to finish it with, once the worst damage is undone... well... that depends on what it was finished with in the first place. I gather you'd only be guessing?
