Hervey Bay
Anyone living up there able to provide me some info on the place.
Rents are reasonable and my line of thought is that between the retirees that can't work and the surfies that won't work there could be work going for someone that wants to work.
Workwise I'd be looking for anything I can get - got degrees in teaching and library, HC license with commercial D/A, level 1 traffic control licence.
Been Bribie based for 18 months and unable to find work - been told openly when applying for non teaching stuff that they think I'll go back to teaching and not stay.
Oh yeah and being 6'1 and 160kg doesn't help either.

Hi Smidsy! Just noticed this post as we have been away for about a fortnight.
We live in Hervey Bay and your sumnation is pretty spot on except that there is no surf here!!
There doesn't seem to be a lot of work here , but then I am not in the position of being forced to look.
The population is expanding and there is some building work going.
A new private hospital is under construction and should be open later this year.
Apart from that little drop of info I can't be much help.
All the best with it.
