Honestly is this what the forum has come to?
The thread was started 3 years ago and now all of a sudden it needs changing and needing poles? Maybe go back through the forum from the start and take out all the words people don't like, lol
If it violated the forum rules it would already be gone.
When he started that thread I thought it was his own personal thread as he was getting some ripper deals which he passed some onto us members, but then others posted in it as well and it has turned into what it is.
Of course peer preasure is going to make someone change there mind, if he wanted to change it over the years it would already be done.

As I said before I don't care either way I put no thought into the title and I would say I was gloating over my first real tool purchase.
BETTER TO HAVE TOOLS YOU DON'T NEED THAN TO NEED TOOLS YOU DON'T HAVE

Not sure I understand what the fuss is about, if you want to gloat about something, why not. It's not my place to tell someone they can't be excited and proud of some rare and desirable tool acquisition..
Ray
PS In any event MichaelG already has "Today's Tool Acquisition" up and posted...

I've never looked at "Today's Tool Gloat", not because I'm shocked or offended, but because its an offputting idea, like there's gonna be someone dancing around like a chimp with a new banana. I'd prefer not to watch. Probably look at "TT acquisition" though.

I expect that's aimed at me so here's my take on it.
I don't like the connotations and I have said so. My privilege.
Having said that, let me be clear - I frankly don't care what you think of my sensitivities. I've been on the net for over 20 years and engaged in flamewars that went for months, trashing entire usenet newsgroups. I've said what I believed in, and I'll continue to do so regardless of your and Fraggle's objections.
I simply do not care if you abide by my wishes or not. Post to that thread, use the 'gloat' word. Whatever. What you fail to realise is the level of hypocrisy you are displaying by complaining about me complaining on an internet forum.
So follow your own advice - I intend to continue on as I have been.
This thread will rapidly have more posts to it than people here own machines. That is very, very typical..... and funny.

I have never seen such a fuss over nothing. A three-year old thread title by a 15 year old and suddenly now its offensive?
At least I got a good chuckle out of reading it.
Why dont you all go back to your sheds and do something useful with your time?
DougI got sick of sitting around doing nothing - so I took up meditation.
