First time milling with bandsaw
Hello all, I had a bit of fun today milling a few small logs on my new bandsaw. Nothing to exciting but fun to see what can be done with a bandsaw. I milled some pink gum from the fire pile, some She oak and some wattle. I'll sit them in a corner for a year or so but they were already sitting for at least two years prior to cutting. I'm using a Laguna lt 18 3000 series bandsaw with a Resaw King 1 1/4" blade.

Wood looks good
Here are a few tips about stacking.
Use strips (stickers) that are at least 3/4" thick otherwise the wood may go mouldy
Make sure the stickers are exactly above each other.
Although gaffer tape won't apply much pressure any tension should be applied across the stickers or you may bend the slabs.

I am starting to get a little annoyed now.
First, Bob used to go once a year on a milling holiday and we would sit idle in anticipation of his next trip. Now it seems he has nothing better to do than mill timber, carve turtles, build sheds, play with a new bandsaw!!!!!!!!!
Too much time playing, I reckon retirees should be banned from these forums
Sincerely
Willy

Errr, Yes Please. Will discuss with committee and then find a date which suits you.
Should I have put a smily face in on my previous post?
