Why are windows/doors cedar?
Does anyone know why timber doors and windows these days are made of cedar? Is it just because its the best timber available for outdoor joinery or is it because of the look?
I need to get some bifold doors and custom windows made but will be painting them white so I don't really want to pay for the cost of cedar if a cheaper hardwood could be used. Any thoughts?
