    Default beeb on board

Hello, just introducing myself to this comprehensive site….i'm glad i've found it as there is almost a topic on everything…..even on "Green Woodwork' which is where my interests are at the moment. so glad to be here.

I've only just started in woodwork although i'm 55 years old….yes, a late starter so I apologise now for 'Stupid Questions' which may have more bearing on the fact that I'm 55 rather than being new to woodwork!!!

So I guess being new to a profession that is a lifetime apprenticeship even for those that start at school I guess I'll be finding the 'Frustration' Forum' fairly quickly if there is one!!

My first frustration is that I'm not yet retired so I'm not able to get on with anything intently as I'm always having to 'Down tools' to go to work…then there is 'Down tools' to cook a diner. Then there is'Down tools' because if I did,t help clean the house my wife will give me the old "Have I got to do every bloody thing around here while you amuse yourself' routine…..OK….I like cooking but when you are on a mission to complete 8 mortices in Jarah with a hammer and chisel before Monday morning then it gets Frustrating!

So thanks guys, in anticipation for your help and encouragement and look forward to being part of the team.

Welcome to the Forum "Beeb" and feel certain you will get plenty of
assistance with any problems you raise.

Seeing your intro of "Beeb on board" reminded me of an incident in
our town recently. A lady had a sign in the back window of her car
    showing "Baby on Board".

She appeared surprised when I asked, "Haven't you got a seat for the
    baby yet?"

The lady, whom I did know, did see the humour in my comment.

Enjoy your time with the Forum.

Thanks Allan for your reply…..I'm glad your friend saw the humour…so many quips get lost in the wind and of course once you have to explain then all the humour has gone !

    Welcome to the forum.

No such thing as a stupid question. And yes there is no such thing as the silent hammer so it will be difficult to mortise at night.

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum "Beep".
There are people from all over Australia & the world on the forum, from beginners to old hands & everywhere in between...
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
    Enjoy the forum.
    Enjoy your woodwork.....

Yes, Hammering at night always gives me the guilts….Wondering if the neighbours are cursing me…..I think my wife sends out bad vibes and it feels like she is using Voodoo Magic to punish me for my lack of interaction with her…..even if she was to say goodnight because she is having an early night then that's oK BUT IF i decide to be in the shed past 6pm then she always gives me these bad vibes!
Sometimes I just have to come to the realisation that the job in hand will extend over to the next weekend I have off from work….Bugger!
