Idealy you need to load photo's from your computer through the Manage Attachments or Insert Image buttons.

We deleted VBSEO a little while ago (because it is no longer supported and had security problems) and it appears that this may have been part of the problem. It has affected a lot of different things, most of which were fixed or sorted out prior to thew final deletion, but there are always unforeseen problems that raise their ugly heads hno matter how hard we try.

Neil there's no rush on my part and I appreciate your efforts. If a universal back-end-magic fix proves difficult, would it be an option to grant users temporary edit permission so they could fix their own posts?

Might be the way to go but we'll wait and see if it can be fixed first.

Much easier for you guys to do your own than for us to do them menually because you at least know what you're looking for in the albums where as I have to go searching for each and every individual pic.
Hopefully we'll have a fix in by early next week.

    Cheers

Just thought I would add that I recently used BBcode to insert images from my album and it worked ok. Don't know if that means anything.

The reason I used to favour that method was that you could view pics at full size in line with relevant text. I just find it easier to write about the pics that way and easier as a reader too. The other way you have to say things like 'the third pic shows blah blah'. I know you can insert thumbnails inline, but you still can't see detailed images and text together. Just seems clunky.

Not meaning to moan; I will stick to thumbs if that's more stable. Just my two cents as a user.

    Hi Brett,
All the images that went missing of mine were on my WWF (website not the town, that had me miffed when you said you could meet me in WWF) album and entered in BB code. However i went to using Photobucket with BB code and they are all fine.

Neil, it had crossed my mind that we could edit them ourselves but i was waiting for the silver bullet before suggesting it. Looks like it might be a good option though.

I was just trying to review one of Woodwould's builds and note his inline pictures are missing from the thread. https://www.woodworkforums.com/showth...16#post1368616

It looks like the pictures are linked to his forum album space, but they don't show in the thread. I'd hate to think all this good information has gone missing.

They are all still in his album. Was able to find them but will have to wait to see if the fix works as it's a nightmare trying to do them all manually. Looks like there may be many many more missing so doing individuals may be out of the question for a little while.

Hang fire for a few more days and we'll see what happens.

    Cheers - Neil

We have put in a lot of hours over this problem and not much further forward with a fix due to the random numbering of identifier numbers in the links to the pics.

Giving it until Wednesday night to sort out at our end and if it can't be done We might just have to go with allowing you guys to fix your own.

Unfortunately I think Woodwould has left the room and with over 600 photo in his album it would be challenging for another member to sort out the right links. I doubt even WW would be bothered doing it even if he was still an active member on the Forum.

Will work on WW's pics as a separate thing.

    Hi,
WW is still lurking and keeping a beady eye on us all.
If you miss him he can be found at Pegs and 'Tails | Seventeenth- and eighteenth-century English and Irish furniture & co.
