Old Greenheart on Grand Designs
Was watching Grand Designs last night (probably a repeat) where they were converting a lifeboat station. According to Kevin McLeod the timber framing was greenheart and what sounded like jarro. Probably meant jarrah.
Anyway they showed some of the greenheart being resawn. According to the mill operator the bandsaw normally cuts pine and the blade lasts two to three weeks. It was lasting twenty minutes with the hundred year-old greenheart.Cheers,
Jim
