... and I still can't find those 8x4's
For the last few weeks I;ve been tidying up one shed. It's one of those neverending jobs in a way because as quick as I actually get some room in there I fill it with something else but it reached the point where I just had to do something. So I started to break down little packs of this and that and amalgamate them by species and size etc etc and... found stuff that I can remember cutting, still can't find other stuff I remember cutting ( I lost all stock control for a while after cyclone Yasi) and it's saying something when I know there's still some 8x4's there somewhere but can't quite find them yet. They'll be mixed in with a pile of cants somewhere. *sighs*
Anyway I found a couple of slabs of a little twisty silkwood that I vaguely remember as being "good for nothing else but he might make a bartop or bench". Lifted them up and ... aha... heres a few bits of sawn timber I must have taken off him too. So I run it through the plane and...

can't wait to see how the slabs clean up!!!

I am regularly amazed at MM's stuff, and he makes me feel quite guilty because of all the twisted logs, crotches etc I've left to rot in the bush over the years as "worthless". I'd hate to go visit him... I suspect my old landcruisers springs would be groaning when I left there... and it's not like I need any more timber in my shed but "it's all sooooooooo pretty dear and it followed me home, can I keep it, can I keep it???".
