Online Carbitool (& other brand) Suppliers
I've been looking lately at acquiring some serious router bits for handrails, raised panel doors, and jointing (e.g. mitre lock joints).
Australian router bits and cutters at apworkshop.com.au
Offers a big range at a discount (related to how much you spend.) But their website is limited.
Shopping Cart - Bits Below Cost
Is so cheap, I find it hard to believe it's legit, and their selection is small.
Just Tools Australia - Tool Specialist in Power & Cordless Tools, Hand & Air Tools
I've bought from before but thier selection is small.
Does anyone have any experience with these companies or others online?
I might have to approach a local supplier to see if they can special order the bits.

Hi Boz,
Carbatec carry CMT bits, which are very good and have a good range. They will ship them for you.
You should be able to order Carbitool cutters through your local hardware shop.
I think McJings have Whiteside bits but I could be wrong.
Between these three you should be able to get pretty much what you want/need.
Regards,
Rob

Link is to a web page that is over 12 months out of date. This would raise a red flag for me. If a company cannot up date webpage, how will they process order?
Justtools do not always have everything on website, or it is just hard to find. Sometimes you may have a better result with a phone call or email enquiry.

I've bought several Carbitool bits through AP Workshop webpage - never any problems, and good service. In my opinion the Carbitool are just as good or better than CMT.
If I only intend to use a specialist bit a couple of times then McJings stuff is plenty good enough. If its going to get regular extended use then I tend to pay more for something a bit better.
Of course, if you want to wait and order several bits in one go, this is a very good option:
MLCS Router Bits and Woodworking Products
Postage is very reasonable. Their standard range are very good, but the Katana range is absolutely superb. You don't have to buy much before the savings easily cover the postage costs.

Carb-I-Tools are pretty good, just no fancy colours - any colour you want so long as it is black If you think what you are doing is going to stuff the bit quickly their range of 'Econo-Cut' bits are quite adequate for MDF or dodgy re-cycled stuff with grit pounded into it. I usually buy mine at the annual Wood Show as I already have a fair range of bits - Lee Valley, CMT, Woodside, Rockler, McJing - they all work adequately, just some brands have just the profile or function you need for a particular job, like the Whiteside mortice/dado cleaning bits for instance - no one else makes a small diameter (<20mm) bit that has cutters less than 6mm long under a matching ball bearing.

Router bits arrived within 5 days of order. i received 2 emails written by a human updating me to the progress. AP workshop couldn't be happier with service.

Great to see an Australian supplier getting good press. Some need to learn a lot when it comes to customer service.

I know I'm a little late here, however this thread helped me start out hunting online this week for router bits.
I tried contacting Bits Below Cost without any reply yet. Even if they did reply those prices worry me a bit. If it seems too good to be true, it normally is.
I've found AP Workshop to have the easiest navigation for browsing router bits of all the sites (although their search function is pretty week, ended up using "site:apworkshop.com.au" in Google search queries instead).
I did however come across another Australian supplier of Carbitool online who has a sale on at the moment (a bit more than 15% off it looks like), making them a fair bit cheaper if you're looking at picking up a few router bits, etools.net.au
According to their site they are on the online front for Werribee Power Tools. Only problem I hit was that I couldn't find flush trim bits on their site, which I find a bit odd so will call them tomorrow.
Hope this might be of help to someone.

Going through Etool's website it appears that all their items are "on sale", so I'm guessing it's just their normal markdowns from RRP for their online store. Still best prices I could find on Carbitool (and almost everyone else has identical prices).
