Latest project - dollhouse
This hasn't taken too long - Wongo's posting on his creation sowed the seed, and my daughter's 3rd birthday was the immovable delivery milestone.
First pic shows how to get "raised eyebrows" from my SWMBO, followed by a vacuuming of the carpet where the pieces lay.
Pic 2 shows the stage where SWMBO was appointed (by SWMBO) chief interior decorator, and source of last minute design changes.

Dollhouse continued...
It's coming together now
Other folks may have more clamps, but I bet mine are the CLEANEST!!
And I didn't even have to bribe her.

Dollhouse - last part
Finished! (Apart from "how about downpipes?" and "Flower boxes under the windows would look nice" and "there should be some flowers in the gaps between the fence panels" and "haven't we got some material for curtains? you can put up little curtain rods, can't you?" )
Melanie approves (had a clash of wills over bedtime vs. dollhouse tonight), so it's warm fuzzy feelings for Dad
Cheers,
Andrew

Looks good Andrew!
She should have many hours of fun with it, whilst you get the equivalent hours of peace! Now Melanie, you tell your Daddy to go buy you lots of dolls for your house ... for cleaning his clamps
Cheers

Where do the stairs go?
Seriously, looks great and she should get lots of enjoyment from it.
Are you having a house warming or tea party for it?Brett
Only Robinson Crusoe could get everything done by Friday!

Lovely work Andrew. Melanie looks very happy. I think I would fight to stay up and play with a doll's mansion like that.
Cheers

Soooo cuuute! Notice little swmbo in the bunnies apron -- nice touch.
Plenty of warm and fuzzies from that post.
Yeah: that staircase really should go somewhere.
Did you use M&Ts for that bed? Those are my principles, and if you don't like them . . . well, I have others.

Worthwhile effort for a real little sweetheart. I know, I've met Melanie a few times when she has been taking Daddy for a walk and they have called in to the Termites Nest.

I made a few on-the-fly changes as a result of watching Mel play during construction.
I had planned to glaze the windows, but once I realised how often bears enter and leave a building via windows, I deleted them from the spec.
Similarly, the roof was going to be pitched down to the front, but then the giant can't look in
And MkI staircase had smaller steps (which Kanga kept sliding down).
MkII-part 1 was in place (the front-to-back flight) when Mel did some testing.
She demonstrated that a doll can be walked up to the landing, at which point the head shows through the cutout in the floor above, then lifted up the last bit with one's other hand.
I put the last few sideways steps in to visually close the gap a bit, but the new owner seems pretty happy.
All you stair-knockers have just been un-invited from the housewarming
Cheers,
Andrew
