    Default Oak veneer speaker cabinets

Hello, I have some vintage Infinity speakers as shown. They have oak veener cabinets. Parts of the wood are a little faded and stained (eg beverage cup ring stain) and I'm wondering the best course of action to bring it back again. I was thinking of lightly sanding (?) and then using something on the wood. But not sure what? Maybe some sort of rubbing wood oil. I don't have any experience in wood so if you have any helpful advice it would be appreciated .

    Thanks

No wonder all posts have to go though the moderator first, probably because there is so much abuse from frustrated people who haven't got answers !!!

More of an upkeep problem than finishing. Try ubeauts Polish Reviver if the surface has a sound coating on it. That stuff works a treat but if the marks appear to be through the surface and in the timber you might need to strip the old finish and start from scratch.

    They don't look too bad.

Unless the surface is roughened, I would not be sanding.

It my be just a simple coat of wax and a good stiff rub will work wonders.

The U beaut traditional wax in natural would be the go.
plenty of, rub it in hard with a bit of rough cloth like a polo shirt and buff of with a soft cloth like t shirt or if you can get it fat ladies cotton panties ( the best polishing cloth known to man).

You will beed a brush for the moulded sections.....a new shoe brush should do the trick.

A bit of wax and bit of elbow grease should do the trick.

    cheers

    Most powertools have sharp teeth.
