    Default Wheel Dimensions

I want to start making my own spoke wheels for models. I know the outside dimension I want but I don't know the rim, tire, and hub dimensions. Is there a chart somewhere that gives all the dimensions or do you guess?

I made some wheels for the fire engine and it was just a case of if it looks right it is right. If you have a set of plans then go by what they have used

Thanks, guessing is the way I am proceeding at the moment, but I'm just practicing. If no dimensions turn up, I will keep guessing.

I go on the internet and look at photos of the item I am looking at building. Print a photo and then scale up to the size of the project.

Would depend on what they are for, the only given is they are round, a horse cart wheel a model T Ford or a 1970 MG B are all spoke wheels.

If you have a picture, or can find one on a website, you can use this web app to find measurements from it at any scale. (there's a demo video of how to do it)

This app may also come in handy for the hub and spokes. You can make and print a template to mark the spoke points on the hub.
