Landcruiser Cruise Control Issue
Driving my friends 02 Land Cruiser Wagon (6 Cyl petrol) with what appears to be factory cruise control.
Running at 100k on cruise control all was fine, then I switched off the cruise control (as in turned it off altogether without disengaging it first (I've done this for the years on my BA Falcon)) and the throttle locked - luckily on idle.
Recycling the cruise control, auto trans and ignition several times did nothing, eventually the throttle came good with a couple of good taps of my foot (not quite hard but sharp) and it felt very much like I was forcing it to release or come good.
Is there an issue with the cruise control or is there some oddity of the Toyota system I don't know about - this was the first time I'd ever driven any kind of landcruiser.
Cheers
Paul
