"A space surrounded by wood" somebody said - but surely a 'bottomless box' could just be a box placed upside-down

Very true TTT. For me this was more of a design exercise on the purpose of a box. I actually think I might follow it in another direction too. Leaving the front open does deviate from the idea of a bottomless box as well.
I might tinker with modifying this one or play with some other designs in the future. Just more of a creative exercise that just happened to fall into the realm of a box.

Great point Shawn. As I re-think the design, the idea of some sort of lighting has been a regular thought.
