    Default Tiling shower base

I am going to tile my shower base – correct me if I’m wrong but here is the plan of attack so far:
Lay flashing, cement sheet on floor (over chipboard); Install hob & line in c/sheet; Silicone & tape all joins. Now here’s the tricky bit – I want to put down some cement so I can shape an effective flow to the drain. What is the minimum thickness? & is there a product specifically designed for this or is plain old cement ok? Then I will install puddle flange and w/proof onto that before tiling. Help me Obiwan Kenobi you’re my only hope!
 O no what have I done??

best advice I can give is to ask a professional tiler - IMHO this is a job for an expert but could WITH CARE and the tricks of the trade, be done by a gifted amateur. I believe the "cement" to use will be a particular type, but am not sure. (could i BE any LESS helful!!!???)

and if you have been welcomed yet WELCOME to the forum - you'll find it full of brilliant info - certainly better than mine!

You prolly wouldn't want it any thinner than 25mm at the drain point. Make sure that it isn't too much of a slope or if will be hazardous to stand on and the tiles will be very hard to lay. You only need 5 mm fall over a 900mm sq base.
