Timber type
Unknown timber I brought this at the wood show Melbourne and promptly forgot what it was.
Any ideas guys

Also did I completely stuff this saw handle up by having the grain run the completely wrong way
It should be ruining horizontal

Yes, definitely a Casuarina or Allocasuarina to me - aka Sheoak. Maybe Rose Sheoak if from the eastern states?
