Default New Memeber - Melbourne SE Suburb + Project (wood computer mouse)

    Hi Forum,

    Newbie here.

On my list todo for a long time, is to join a club to start a new hobby of woodworking. Any hints for clubs or facilities in SE suburbs in Melbourne?

I rang the VWWA and they suggested Waverley Woodworkers - which looks good. Waverley Woodworkers Inc. (WWC)

    Anything closer to Brighton area?

What I'd like to do, or even pay some one to do this for me, is to make a few wood computer mouse. I've used these for years from a guy in Germany - but they are not cheap, and he is slow to make them. But they are great. They make great presents. I want some for this Xmas (presents). He is here (under Mause section): HOLZKONTOR - peripheral visions - Holz - Wood. I can easily buy the base mouse (electronics). I just need the upper shell made out of wood. Would be nice to be done out of Huon pine. I have a spare (older) one here that can be used as a template. Since everyone now uses a computer, all day long - I find it much nicer to be using a wood product, rather than plastic.

So, wondering where I can go to get this project done - any takers here?

I've searched a very long time to find other suppliers - but there are very few - 1 guy in Russia who charges crazy prices (800 Euro's per 1!) and then all the extremely poor quality ones from china.

If someone is interested, it's a small niche industry that could sell a number of them.
