Roller Door Openers
Anyone able to tell me what they're worth (every site I have looked at doesn't list prices) how hard they are to fit and can they be fitted and then removed without leaving a sign.
I live in a rental, and would like to fit an opener to the roller door.
The landlord would either laugh if I asked, or fit it then hike up the rent so I'm thinking do it myself and come lease end remove it and either sell it or fit it at my next place.
Cheers

Anywhere between $190 to $400 depending on brand and where you purchase.
The big green shed has them.
Not too difficult to fit but if all else fails READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FIRSTThe person who never made a mistake never made anything

But be careful, there are good motorized openers and there are better openers. Stick with brand names if you can.

You will of coarse need access to power. Also make sure there is another entry/exit to garage in case the opener fails (or power fails).

Most openers have a manual key to open the thing. Just don't do what I did and loose the key. Then when the ducted vacuum catches fire and trips the garage door circuit, spend 10 mins trying to find it while the garage is burning
Also, you will be taking it with you when you leave, so don't be afraid of spending a little more to get a better quality unit.
You can always run an extension cord to the unit so don't worry about getting a power outlet installed near it. That's overkill for your situation.

Thanks guys.
I ended up doing the next best thing and moving - they wanted to up the rent $5, only $5 but that would have made the place about $45 more than it was worth.
Moving was a pain but I found a place 50x nicer for only $5 more than the increased rent of the old place.
