In the process of planning/designing a wine cellar to be built under a garage and was hoping to get some info on correct ventilation techniques.

Most of the cellars I have been in use a 2 up 2 down venting method whereby 2 100mm PVC pipe are inserted in the top of one wall and 2 more on the bottom of the opposite wall. This creates the require circulation.

My question is how should these pipes come up above ground? My garage is planned as double brick so there wont be room in the cavity for the pipe. I was thinking that two pipes could finish just above the slab, under the wall and i would have an opening on either side of the wall where i would fit either vent bricks or some stainless mesh. The problem is that the other two venting pipes would come up the boundary wall and i dont know how to make that work. Can i deviate those pipes under the slab so they all come up on the same side? What I dont know is if the heights of the pipes need to remain 2 high 2 low for the circulation to work or does it only matter in the cellar??
