Wasn't sure about Nakashima design so I had to turn to our friend. Google came up with this.

It also brought up Aline Nakashima, whom I thought might be the designer .

going back a few years (well maybe a bit more than a few) I know what my answer would have been,

If there is significant twist, the thicknesser may not be the tool..... you can put it though the thicknesser to achieve your required thickness.
