    Default Deep Yellow Wood

Milled these pieces today, revealed birds-eye,fiddleback,and a good mix of colours..the tree is Deep Yellow Wood ( Rhodosphaera rhodanthema),you don't often see it these days as alot of it was cut out of the scrub in years gone by..something a bit unusual..MM

I agree it is an interesting piece.

Does it remain yellow once made into something?

Looks gorgeous . Hopefull it will hold its colour when it dries.

Looking at the ANBG IBIS common name database, Rhodosphaera rhodanthema is also known as Tulip Satinwood, and Yellow Cedar.

Down here we call it Yellow Cedar. Milled some about ten years ago. Dries easily, very stable and works and turns well. It does retain its colour.
