Am renovating using recycled windows (have been collecting them) and trying to work out which ones I can use before I get the chippie in to help reframe an external wall.
My question is about lintels as I am looking to get the windows as close to ceiling height as practicable to match the existing 1960s look.
We have just done one wall on this side and put in a new top and bottom plate. Plenty of room for lintels as frames were well below ceiling height.





But the next wall we will tackle it would be good to have the windows as high as possible because the short wall with the triple hopper window is staying (the brown one in pic above) and I am keen to keep the horizontal alignment. I have windows that match this
