Rocketship Mark II
Well here is the Mark II. I still have to put a finish on it. I am also building a really cool base that will mount it in the horizontal position.
I glued this up with scraps as I am not able to do any resawing as my resaw blade broke and haven't had time to get a new one. So some of the grain was running in the wrong direction so I had a little bit of tearout while turning. It all worked out in the end. Will be better on the next one.
thanks for looking,
Bret

Nice, love the contrast, and yeah the holes add something to it.

Very good Bret,
Love the way you've recycled timber offcuts in this rocket...plus a bucket full of sawdust for the garden...lol.
Too hard to choice between the two; the first has beaut grain but this one has some nice contrasts....
Well done, Cheers, crowie

Thanks guys for the comments. And Derek there is no way I am showing up your work.
Didn't get to work on the base yesterday hopefully this evening when I get off work.

Derek I just glued them on. I sanded the edges of them to fit the profile of the rocket body so they had full contact. They wouldn't survive in a young ones hands I don't think.

Made a base for the Mark II.
All that's left is to put a finish on it.
