    Default Acraturn Mill

    Hi wise ones,
Can anyone give me some information on a Acraturn RF-30 mill (12 speed) please. I may be able to buy one near here for under $1000. but there's no tooling with it.
Are they suitable for a home jobbing shop? Is there any downside? Is the tooling 'standard'. Anything else I should be aware of when I look at it?
Thanks again in anticipation of all your help.
    warmest regards Brian

I think if you ignore the brand and google 'RF30 mill' you will find a heap of info to get you started.

Having used both a round column and a dovetail column mill I'd say never buy a round column mill. You'll have to re tram every single time you move the head and the quill travel is not long, so that can often.
