Chainsaw Mill - auxiliary throttle control ideas?
Hi All,
Please point me in the right direction if this topic has already been covered.
I'm running a Husky 394xp with 42" bar on an Alaskan 50" CSM.
Was wondering if anyone's done their own auxiliary throttle control from the chainsaw up closer to the CSM? Or is anyone aware of any off-the-shelf kits available?
Just trying to get into the most comfortable position as possible when pushing the mill through timber, and gripping the throttle/handle isn't always the easiest way to go (for me anyway).
Thanks in advance.

I have one that uses motor cycle throttle that rides on the wrap handle

This is the best remote throttle I have ever used. It's sensitive, intuitive and lockable.
I also have one that uses a bicycle brake lever on a mill handle in this thread

Wow, Bob, that looks fantastic! As someone else said in your MC throttle thread, y really are the master!
Must say that when I saw that you were the first to reply, I thought that no one else probably would given your enviable attention to detail with such things.
You've got me excited about trying the MC throttle, and we've got a MC wrecked just down the road from us!
A couple of questions about your MC throttle:
- does cutting a groove with a hacksaw into the trigger mechanism weaken it?
- did you fabricate your own handle to slide the MC throttle onto?
- since designing and making this throttle, have you made any changes/improvements?
And finally, without having a detailed gander at my Husky throttle linkage, would you suggest that the same method of routing the cable would work on the 394xp?
Thanks for your reply.
