Looking for solid brass piano hinges
I know that this topic did the rounds some time back. Just wondering if anyone has found a supplier since then. My calls so far have been fruitless.

Have you tried varying your search to continuous hinge?

Thanks for the reply Craig. Yes, I've tried that.

Bob,
Try here. They're in England, but the hinges start at about Three Pounds and they are solid brass.
Change your search to Brass Cabinet Joinery in "x" x being whatever town you want to search.
You could also try here. Excellent merchandise and nice people to deal with. (They're in Melbourne)
Regards,
Rob

I was chasing some bronzed continuous hinge for a tool cabinet last week and found some at the Big Green Shed. I noticed they also had some stock in solid brass in 600, 900 and 1200mm lengths. However it was not polished and only had a very basic finish. Probably not suitable for quality cabinet work where it will be visible but otherwise appeared ok. Hope this helps..... Twosheds.

Thanks for the feedback Twosheds. Bunnys piano hinges are Prestige brand and are only brass plated. Not only do I want hinges that look good, but they will be supporting a bit of weight.

Well I found my solid brass piano hinges. Not being able to find anyone who stocks them I contacted a piano repair business. This fellow is in Sydney and keeps parts from old pianos. So whilst the hinges are used, being solid brass I expect them to polish up a treat. In fact, the fellow I purchased them from explained how he goes about the process. For those who have been looking for solid brass continuous hinges, try piano repairers.

Only just caught this thread - I know stainless continuous hinges are available from the yachting chandlery places - I do vaguely recall seeing brass hinges as well but that was a few years ago.
Hope it helps.
