Some people
While journeying down south we spent a couple of days in Wauchope and Port Maquarie.
Went to go for a walk along the river in port and were handed a free scratchie by a young
lass. You know the schemes - to win the prize you have to sit through a time share presentation blah, blah, blah...
Well lass asked if i was American and I told her, jokingly, not to insult me. Turns out she was American but had been here for
10 years. I asked how she liked the place ( Oz that is ).
I nearly fell over when she said she didn't feel NEARLY as safe here as there.
WHY?????
Because I can't carry a gun here!!!!

I can understand her feeling that.
Have you ever tried to holster a can of Mortein for the Redbacks, 22" chainsaw for the Hunstmen, bottle of vinegar for the jellyfish and a rake and shovel for the snakes??
A simple 9mm could take care of all of those problems.
Every time you make a typo, the errorists win.

Son and family have just come back from Disneyland CA while there I was reading the Disneyland news where two staff members sacked for planting a bomb (turned out to be chemical ice bomb). A grandmother on a ride with her grand daughter found a fully loaded pistol safety off on the seat of a ride. They found gun's registered owner all legal no searches done at Disneyland.

Saw something on TV yesterday showing what guns you can buy freely in the States.
What on earth does the average person want an assault rifle AK something or other (or whatever they are called) for?
A member on the Shark forum is making a 9 foot gun cabinet for a customer. Can one person use more than one gun at a time?
Every day is better than yesterday
Cheers

The bomb, as it turned out, was dry ice in a closed container. The closed container was tossed into a trash can. It made a loud bang. Mickey Mouse security cleared the area and dragged in the Anaheim Police. Security tapes later identified the idiot as a cast member.
I haven't heard anything more about the pistol. It seems to have just disappeared from the news media. The pistol was probably owned by someone with a concealed carry permit. (Probably an off duty police officer as most are required to carry their gun at all times.) My guess is that the pistol slipped out of the holster unnoticed during the ride.
As a note, it seems that since the school massacre in Connecticut, the news media has been emphasizing all gun violence. If I had to guess, the media which gets almost no advertising revenue from the NRA, is trying to get enough grass roots support to overcome the NRA lobbying efforts.
When encountering someone arguing against any gun control, I ask "And what sporting purpose does an AR-15 or AK-47 have?"
