    Default Hello

    Hi All

I thought I had posted here before, as I joined a long time ago, but I think it was over on the Renovate Forum, so hello.
I will be re-useing some old railway sleepers for stairs, so will be asking plenty of questions!

    Cheers
    JAmes,

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum "James".
You've selected some old very hard timber to work with!!
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP photos with build notes.
    Enjoy the forum.
    Enjoy your woodwork.
    Cheers crowie

Thanks for the welcome, picked up the sleepers today. Not very nice conditions to do it though!

G'Day again James, I hope the younger bloke was the muscles for the removal & loading of the sleepers as I know that they are so jolly heavy things. I still think you are very game to tackle/recycle old hardwood sleepers, good luck. Cheers, crowie..
PS - May I encourage you to start a new thread on the sleeper/stairs project...

Thanks again guys... - Crowie, I found a place very close to me to mill the timber, they make very nice finished furniture, table slabs etc, so I think I will get what I need from them. I will start a new thread in the relevant section.

    Cheers
    JAmes.
