    Default Attaching a Cheese Knife Blade

    Hi All,
    I've made some handle blanks for cheese knives (cut not turned) and I'm wondering how to attach the knife blade to the handle. I did a couple by cutting a slot across the entire handle using a saw but it doesn't look very clean. Is there a way of attaching the blade without having a visible cut across the entire handle? I'm using the blade blanks that have blosters.

    Thanks =)

    The way I do it is drill a hole that is as long as the cheese knife tang and a tight fit for the shaft on the "bolster" (I presume you are using type of cheese knife blades that have these).

    The I use a hack saw blade that has one end cut off and has been cut down or narrowed so about 50 mm of the blade is just wide enough to fit into the above hole and cut a slot on either side of the hole to accept the full with tang of the knife.

    Test fit every now and then until a firm fit is achieved.

    Epoxy blade in place and that's it.
