    Hi Phil,

I have inserted a pic of my humble router table (hope it worked).

As you can see the tracks go just past the center line of the insert, and are set just below the surface.

Up to this point i have had no trouble with workpieces catching on the way past.

    Steven.

    Hey Steven,

I like your table, do you have any more photoes or a drawing?

As you know, I am currently rebuilding my own router table, but I have 2 brothers that also need router tables. One brother has an old table that needs replacing & the other brother has just bought his first router & is just starting to play around with it a bit. Sadley, they both live out in the stickes, and in opposit directions, so we dont catch up that often, so using mine is not really an option for them.

    Thanks

    Steve

This is interesting. I like the idea but have you tried this? Do you think that it should be half way between the centreline and edge of the router plate?.

If the tracks go pass the centreline do you think I will have an effect on the piece sliding past it? I understand that the track is recessed, but swarf, etc.

    Love to hear your thoughts...

For when you only want a shaving off a big bit.
Having a thick enough fence or packing it with something would be a way around it.
It also lets you skew your fence a bit.

If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.
