Cut down wall plate
Hi guys,
Have a question about wall plate removal.
I have removed all of the existing flooring (carpet over T&G floor boards) in our cal bungalow which will be replaced with yellow tongue (then top covered with carpet or the original T&G floor boards).
The photos below show the remaining part of the wall plate from when the original owners had part of the partition walls (b/w the living and dining rooms) knocked out to open up the rooms. This has occurred in a total of 3 places (b/w the original back of the house and where the kitchen was added on plus the same location as this but in the hall wall).
Obviously the section that has been cut down (butchered?) needs to go so that I can get a continuous span of yellow tongue through the open area. From a structural point of view I can
