Default Heads up anybody who has clear sky tonight.

Some time in the next hour the Moon will pass in front of Jupiter.
Due around 10:30 standard time or 11:30 silly summer time.
The Moon is only a half at present & Jupiter will disappear behind the dark half.
Worth a look 'cos it is rare.
    Cliff.

If you have binoculars you will be able to see Jupiter's moons as well.

The moon is very low now so I don't think I'll be able to see Jupiter emerge.
Nice clear skies though, not a cloud (or smoke) in sight.

Waiting waiting waiting.... taking longer than I expected, I was outside watching & I sat on a wet chair, great, then the ants found me, dancing around with wet short & the mosquitoes also found me.

Worthless without pics - video would be better.

Yes, anyone north of Bega only got to see Jupiter skid across the edge of the moon. I had my scope set up (in Sydney), tracked them for a couple of hours, and just as they were about to kiss, the blanky clouds came in and covered the lot.
