G'day all, from Geelong region newbie
Always had an interest in woodwork, but never had the tools, time or space. Now i figure I've wasted too many years, so built the shed, acquired some basics and a Lathe and intend to enjoy making some bits and pieces no one wants in their house, teach myself to make pens and make every conceivable bench and rack that I can fit in a 10m x 8m shed.
in the process I intend to gather more tools, perhaps initially some second hand, like a decent table saw, and then eventually, well who knows.
look forward to some fun times.

Welcome Tandanas1. Plenty of help and information here. Your knowledge and ability (and tool collection) will build quickly. Great size shed your starting out in. Wish I had that space.
Do you belong or intend to belong to any of the local wood clubs?Dallas

The Clubs & Sheds.
Hi Tandanas1,
As Treecycle has said there is plenty of help around Geelong.
Send either of us a PM of your Suburb, so we can put you in touch with the appropriate Club or Mens Shed, if that is your wish.
Either are very helpful.
As a matter of interest, The Lara Woodworker Inc.
are holding their 1st. Meeting for the Year at the Lara Secondary College, at 7.15pm.
For Hand Tools, either Sunday Market is just the Place, for older Tools, but just as good as the new ones.
Woodturning is both up our allies, with a great lot of experience between us.
Please get in touch with us so we can point you in the right direction, regarding Turning.
Very easy to buy the wrong equipment.Regards,
issatree.
Have Lathe, Wood Travel.

Welcome to the forum. Working with wood is a fun hobby, but on this site there are more interests so I should say creating something is the principal of fun.

G'Day, Welcome to a top forum.
I've seen quite a few blokes on the forum from Geelong so you may get some first hand advice.
Anyways, You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you keep showing off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork & the new big shed.
Cheers, crowie
